How do payments work?
Stripe payments with optional in-person EFTPOS terminal support: Stripe's Australian rate (1.7% + $0.30) plus our 1.2-1.4% booking fee, on separate lines.
Optionally, use a physical EFTPOS terminal for in-person tap-and-go, plus online payments for packages and invoices. Card-on-file with automatic pre-authorisation for no-show protection. Every Stripe payment is linked to the client, service and invoice and reaches Xero through Stripe Bank Feeds, which keeps end-of-month, quarterly and EOFY reconciliation simpler for your bookkeeper.
Can I keep using Square?
Yes. About 1 in 5 businesses run Square in parallel.
Square charges 1.6% in person and 2.2% online. Through Petboost, Stripe charges 1.7% + $0.10 in person and 1.7% + $0.30 online, and Petboost adds its 1.2-1.4% booking fee on those card payments. A payment on your own Square terminal can be recorded on the appointment as Other EFTPOS, with no Petboost fee, and your bookkeeper reconciles it from Square. Payments through Petboost and Stripe are labelled and linked to the appointment.
Can I transfer my MoeGo number?
No, it's a US +1 number. Your texts come from an Australian +61 number instead.
Your MoeGo number can't be ported across. With Petboost, your clients see an Australian +61 number on their phone: a shared Petboost number, or your own dedicated number with Communications Booster.
