How do payments work?

Stripe payments with optional in-person EFTPOS terminal support: Stripe's Australian rate (1.65% + $0.30) plus our 1.2-1.4% booking fee, on separate lines. Optionally, use a physical EFTPOS terminal for in-person tap-and-go, plus online payments for packages and invoices. Card-on-file with automatic pre-authorisation for no-show protection. Every Stripe payment is linked to the client, service and invoice and reaches Xero through Stripe Bank Feeds, which keeps end-of-month, quarterly and EOFY reconciliation simpler for your bookkeeper.

Can I keep using Square?

Yes. About 1 in 5 businesses run Square in parallel. Square charges 1.6% in person and 2.2% online. Through Petboost, Stripe charges 1.65% + $0.10 in person and 1.65% + $0.30 online, and Petboost adds its 1.2-1.4% booking fee on those card payments. A payment on your own Square terminal can be recorded on the appointment as Other EFTPOS, with no Petboost fee, and your bookkeeper reconciles it from Square. Payments through Petboost and Stripe are labelled and linked to the appointment.

Can I transfer my MoeGo number?

No, it's a US +1 number. Your texts come from an Australian +61 number instead. Your MoeGo number can't be ported across. With Petboost, your clients see an Australian +61 number on their phone: a shared Petboost number, or your own dedicated number with Communications Booster.

I do grooming, daycare AND boarding: will Petboost handle all of them properly?

Yes. Unlike grooming-first systems where daycare and boarding can feel like an afterthought, Petboost was designed from day one to handle all service types as equals. You can book multi-pet, multi-service appointments in one flow. Many former PetExec users who tried other software found multi-service integration frustrating: Petboost solves this.

How does Petboost handle capacity and "units" for daycare?

Petboost has proper resource capacity management. Set limits per resource, track who is actually signed in vs just scheduled, and see your daily capacity at a glance. If you work in "units" rather than allocating dogs to specific groomers, our slot-based resource system handles this naturally.

Can I easily process refunds?

Yes. Refunds are made straight from the payment, with no support tickets or workarounds. We've heard frustration from users of other systems where "simple things like giving refunds would be so difficult." Petboost makes it simple.

Do customers get receipts for all payments?

Receipt emails go out for paid appointments while Email the customer: booking updates is on (it starts off on a new account). Card reader payments are the exception: download the receipt from the appointment. Customers can also download paid receipts from their account.

How does package tracking work for half-day daycare?

Petboost packages are flexible: they work with half-day, full-day, or any custom unit you define. Your package credits reflect how your business actually operates, not how the software thinks you should operate.

Can I import my data from MoeGo?

Yes. We migrate your customers, pets, services, add-ons, team members & hours, resources, account settings, packages, and package credits. We also load your upcoming appointments from your old system; you review the transferred calendar against your old diary and confirm it before go-live. You'll get a Google Sheet flagging any records that need attention. Contact us for a migration assessment.

How does pricing compare?

MoeGo charges $49-239 USD/month, which is roughly $71-344 AUD once converted, and most Australian cards add an international transaction fee of about 3% on top of a USD charge. Petboost charges $65/month (waived at $7,500+ in card payments), plus our 1.2-1.4% booking fee and Stripe's Australian rate (1.65% + $0.30) as separate lines. Processing costs only differ if you actually run your cards through MoeGo Pay: on US Stripe an Australian cardholder carries the international card surcharge and currency conversion on every transaction. If you take cash, bank transfer or use your own EFTPOS terminal, that difference does not apply to you and the comparison is subscription only.

If route optimisation is critical to your daily operations and you do many stops per day, MoeGo's routing is genuinely better. With Petboost, you pay $65/month (waived at $7,500+ in card payments), a booking fee on card payments (1.2% to 1.4% by plan), and Stripe's Australian rate as a separate Stripe charge.

Keep Your Existing Hardware

If you're using a Stripe WisePOS-E terminal with MoeGo, you can bring it across to Petboost. No new equipment needed. Stripe stopped selling the WisePOS E on 1 September 2026, so a new reader is the Stripe Reader S700.
